A Birmingham Multi-Cultural Wedding | Ross Bridge

If you know me at all, you know I love Ross Bridge.  I love it for weddings, for playtime by the pool, even for the breakfast brunch!  Add to that a very sweet bride and her loving parents and it was an event I did not want to miss.

It was one of those meetings where I fell in love. I try not to let this happen, but it does.  I was so happy that they chose us for the wedding because that meant I could spend more time with them!  Sure, Saman is beautiful, very intelligent and so wonderful to be around.  Did you know that she actually had marriage proposals from around the world!!!!  But she chose to marry for love, a MIT professor (or was it Harvard???  Doesn't matter, he's smart, cute, nice and compliments her so well) who swept her off her feet.

Just watch the video to see his reaction to seeing her for the 1st look!

My mother was more patriotic than your mother

Happy 4th Birmingham!

Posted by BlueMoon Studios - Photography on Saturday, July 4, 2015

Every family has their own traditions for the holidays.  The 4th of July is no exception.  When I was growing up, it meant homemade ice cream with the neighbors, sparklers and Lee Greenwood. For my mom, there were coordinating American flag plates, cups and napkins to help us celebrate.  I don't really think it was her favorite holiday; she really just celebrated them all with gusto!

I also remember going to one of the historic Huntsville churches yearly and watching the "God Bless America" program.  If my memory serves me right, the choir formed an American Flag on the stage.  It was beautiful and moving.  And of course the finale was always the Lee Greenwood song of the same name.  Still to this day, I get a little teary-eyed when I hear that song.  The lyrics were powerful to 8-year old Angela, that is for sure.  Still are.

And if you knew Jean Studdard, you knew that we all wore coordinating red, white, and blue clothing.  I'm sure I had a bow as big as the American flag too! And maybe some puffy paint on my shirt.

My mom was also the first to tie yellow bows around all of the trees in honor of our neighbor that had just left for Afghanistan.  She made sure that the entire neighborhood all had yellow ribbons for their trees as well.

However you celebrate our nation's independence, do it with gusto!  Remember the men and women that have fought tirelessly for the freedoms that we have every day. Happy Independence Day!  - Angela Deaver

Juli and Jacob | Backyard Alabama wedding

When I first spoke with Juli (and Jacob) I was amazed at how they were functioning so well in their life.  They both had full time jobs while planning a wedding and building their dream home.  This dream home was to be the wedding site.  But they were calm.  They had been dating for years and they were ready to finally be married.  They had pride for their house and were excited to share it with friends and family who were to gather to celebrate the couple exchanging their wedding vows.

When we arrive on site, we can see why this site was the only choice for the wedding.  It was gorgeous!  The view was incredible!  And the house was beautiful!  The only thing more beautiful was the bride.  I loved how their friends, who were basically family, all came together to make the day perfect.  Even when the guitarist blew a circuit during the 1st dance and all of the lighting went dark, it was still perfect, because it allowed for an impromptu sing-a-long from the entire crowd.  It was a good lesson that at the end of the day, no matter what happens, you still get to marry the person of your dreams. - Angela Deaver

I love it when I'm scrolling along, minding my own business, and one of our beautiful brides catches my eye.  Today I found Anna Laura and David's wedding featured on Bromberg's Wedding Website.

These two really have a fantastic love story.  You should take a minute to visit the Bromberg's website to read it for yourself.  It's one of the best!

And click here to read the recap post that I did (including their gorgeous wedding film)! You know what, I'll just add the wedding film here too, just to make it easy on you!

You say you want "NOW??" We can do NOW!!!

This throwback is not on a Thursday, so maybe it doesn't count.  Regardless there were so many special moments in the day that I wanted to relive, so we edited a 15 sec Instagram video of Shannon and Peter's wedding day.  I've also noticed that I never did an official blog post for this film so I will include the full wedding film as well.

I love the excitement the bride and groom had for getting married.  I love the look on the Mother of the Bride's face when walking her daughter down the aisle (jewish wedding: it is customary for both parents to walk the bride down the aisle). The surprise fireworks at the end of the night at The Club are always spectacular!

But more than anything, we love doing Same Day Edits or Next Day Edits.  Not only is it the biggest rush of adrenaline that we ever have, but YOU get to see your wedding with all of the emotions almost immediately!!!!  This is how it works.  We are filming and editing all during the day (takes more people on our end).  When the band takes their second break of the evening (or at another chosen time during the wedding reception),  we pull out a projector and WOW, you are reliving the best day of your life.  Take about the WOW factor!!!  We can only do a limited number each year, so let me know if you want us to do a Same Day Edit for you!

And then here's the full length wedding video.

Business Interiors | DIRTT technology | Corporate Video

I guess I try to separate out our corporate job vs the weddings, but sometimes it is just easier to combine.  It's not like you didn't know that video speaks across all industries and events.

This video was produced for the sales team needing a visual reference to show during a sale presentation.  They needed it to be long and to show how amazing their product is.  Just like with our wedding videos, it takes the "creative collaboration" to produce a piece like this.

If your business needs a simple "about us" video or something more complex, give us a call - we would love to help!

There's no such thing as a June bride

Being the wedding industry, we have to remember that not everyone lives and breathes weddings and events like we do.  Sometimes we have moms of the brides that haven't planned a wedding in over 20 years.

A couple of months ago, I was chatting with a MOB that had called about using us for their wedding videography. The bride was getting married in May of this year.  After telling the mom that we were not available, she made a comment that I had not heard before.  She said, "I guess there is no such thing as a June bride anymore." Although I was raised in the South, I don't know a lot of the typical Southern phrases.  So I consulted Google.

According to folklore, "The goddess Juno was the protector of women in all aspects of life, but especially in marriage and childbearing, so a wedding in Juno's month was considered most auspicious."  Well there you go.

Wedding season, here in the South, can range from March until October, and many brides choose the cooler months to have a Winter Wonderland-themed wedding.  We don't find that June is the only month that people want to get married.  Some months are so busy you forget to eat (almost!).  To get the pick of the vendors you want, plan on booking them a year out. It's not always necessary, but remember June is not the only month that brides want to get married.

Anna Laura and David | Reid Chapel | B & A Warehouse | Birmingham Wedding Video

It was love at first sight.  Maybe not really for the bride and groom, but for me when I first met Anna Laura.  After 15 minutes of talking with her, I knew that we wanted to be a part of their wedding day.  I was so happy when she picked us!  There were so many wonderful details that were going to give the day that extra special touch. And I have to say, even though I was talking with basically royalty, I felt that I was chatting with my closest girlfriends.  Anna Laura has that effect on people, even with all of her accolades through the Miss Alabama pageants.

She was well on her way to assembling an awesome wedding team.  I don't know if I can say it enough - it really does make a difference when you pick quality, "great" vendors.  Everyone works together to make sure the desired result is achieved - making the bride, groom and their families have the perfect wedding day! Ashley with I Do, I Do Wedding Planning planned an amazing Reid Chapel ceremony with a fun reception at B & A Warehouse, both in Birmingham, AL.

My favorite part of her wedding film was when the flower girl kept glancing at Dave when his bride was walking down the aisle.  Watch it for yourself and see. Sooo cute!!  What's your favorite part?

Michelle and Donnie | Sunday afternoon wedding at the Sonnet House | Birmingham Wedding Video

Michelle and Donnie have a beautiful love story.  We were so thrilled to be a part of their Sunday afternoon wedding at The Sonnet House, in Leeds, Alabama.

"Michelle chose soft, neutral colors for her wedding. For her bridesmaid’s dresses she handed out paint chips to her girls with the color palette she wanted. The result as each bridesmaid wearing a beautiful dress {in the proper color scheme} that was perfect for her body and most likely a dress they will wear again. The flowers were romantic, whimsical blooms and garlands perfect for a fall day." - The Sonnet House.  To read more, click here

And for a quick 15 sec #Instagram clip of the day,

The Club | Birmingham Wedding Venue

It seems like once a month we have a wedding or corporate event at The Club (Birmingham, AL). Of course they produce beautiful weddings, but the view of the city of Birmingham is the BEST!

The ladies that run the sales and marketing department are second to none.  You are always greeted with friendly smiles.  I tell everyone that will listen, it is the only venue in town that can serve 300 people a hot, fresh, plated meal at a wedding. It just further shows their aim for perfection and professionalism.

This video promo uses clips from several weddings and events that we filmed.  You will see the behind the scenes set up transforming the big room into a magnificent ballroom.  You can really imagine your wedding being held at The Club!

Once you have booked The Club for your wedding, contact us for your own wedding video!
