Tri Deltas love St. Jude | Tuscaloosa, AL

In the heart of Tuscaloosa, AL, there is a Delta Delta Delta chapter that has raised more money than any of Tri Delta chapter in the United States.  They are actually the 1st chapter in the history of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital that has raised over $200,000.  Actually I think the total is over $400,000 now.  They are doing a great job providing research dollars that will directly impact a child's life. Watch Richard Shadyac, the CEO of fundraising for St. Jude's honor this wonderful sorority and all they have pledged.

How we had a very small part in the Oscars

Well, some would say not really.  But come into my world as I explain this to you.

Friday before the Academy Awards, our Wes Anderson-inspired Tuscaloosa wedding film by Chris was published on Love24fps.com. It's pretty exciting anytime someone gets to see our work when they wouldn't normally have.  If you haven't seen the video, take a minute to watch it.  It's quirky like our couple.  Their fav director is Wes Anderson so Chris made their film to mimic the style of his films.  It's pretty cool and out of the box.

So naturally we spent the Oscars rooting for Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.  Although it did not win Best Picture (it's an honor to be nominated), many of it's members were spotlighted.  Achievement in costume design, achievement in makeup and hairstyling, best production design, and best original score were the Oscars taken home last night from The Grand Budapest Hotel.  Not bad, if you ask me!  And really, that is the closest we have ever been so why not have some fun with it!

Engaged, A Wedding Library located at 1018 Oxmoor Road in Homewood, AL, is the perfect place to go for valuable resources while planning your wedding.  Sure, you can find loads of information online, but sometimes, sitting down with someone and letting them help you organize your things-to-do list is invaluable.  And the ladies at Engaged are really great at being that calming presence in your life.

Twice a year they do Sweet Saturday.  Sweet Saturday allows you to sample cake bites from several different bakeries in the Birmingham area.  This month they have 5 artists featured - Dreamcakes (Homewood), Evelyn Criswell Catering (Springville), Cakes by Kim (McCalla), Pastry Art Bake Shoppe (Inverness and Homewood), and Olexa's (Mountain Brook).

Not only will it save you time picking the perfect cake artist for your wedding day, but it is also a pretty fun day too!  Mark your calendar for this Saturday (February 21) from 11 - 3.  I'm told no appointment is necessary for this wonderful (and free) event!  Thanks Engaged ladies!  Main Street loves you! Kara and Josh | Aldridge Gardens | Hoover Wedding Video

We've adopted Kara and Josh.  Technically they were one of Chris's last weddings with his own company so it is not a Main Street film.  But John did help Chris film this beautiful Fall wedding at Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, AL.

So we adopted them! One look at Kara's smile and you are instantly in love with her and her little family.  Their wedding vows were so sweet to each other. Take a peek and see if you don't fall in love too!

Beth and Jason | Hiking Ruffner Mountain to get married

It was an early, V E R Y early, November morning when one out-of-shape videographer (and a lovely assistant) climbed Ruffner Mountain to capture two love birds saying I do.  It was also V E R Y cold!!

When Beth and Jason first told me that they wanted to do a two-part wedding, I was intrigued.  We love our out of the box couples and this was definitely something unusual.  A sunrise ceremony with just their photographer (Allison Lewis Photography), us and a hand full of people. The reception would come later in January.  Perfect.

This video was shown at the January wedding reception so the guests could witness the couple exchanging their wedding vows. I love the organic feel to it.  I love how the couple shared hot coffee before starting the hike.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Jenn and Chandler | Woodrow Hall and Regions Field | Alabama Wedding Videography

It's not everyday that we hear that the bride's family set the bride and groom up on their first date, but that is what happened with Jenn and Chandler.  Jennifer's parents were having some banking done by this nice young gentleman named Chandler.  In just a short time, the two met (to sign some "banking-related" papers) and then started dating.  The rest is history!!!

Thanks to Chris for helping John shoot this wedding!
