Indiana!!!!!
What an experience!  We received an email from a guy that we met last Fall at a videographer's convention (WEVA).  Bob (Indyvisual) was a fantastic presenter and we gained so much insight into our business.  We have kept up with each other over this past year (isn't Facebook wonderful!!) and we have continued to share video clips of recent weddings.

Bob had gotten a last minute request from a family that he had worked with before, that they needed a videographer for a wedding date that he already had booked.  The family trusted him to pick someone to work in his place.  Fortunately for Bob, we had reserved one Spring weekend for a yard sale (unfortunately for all of our junk) and it happened to be the one weekend that he needed us!

Off we went to Indiana!  Carmel, Indiana to be exact.

The wedding took place at one of the family's very large and very nice estates.  It was a beautiful and romantic ceremony and the reception was fun and upbeat.  A cigar roller was part of the extras for the day!  My favorite detail from the day were individual present-style cakes for each of the kids in attendance at the reception.  And I can't forget the custom-designed dance floor painted to resemble Monet's Water Lillies.  Just beautiful!

It is always refreshing to be able to work with people you never have been able to.  Monica from Detail + Design and her entire team of wedding planner ninjas took care of every detail.  Everything was flawless.  Hether Miles Photography was on hand to capture the day.  Or should I say evening...  We got back to our hotel at 3:00 a.m.  I think I am still recovering!! Ha!

It was a great experience overall.  I am so glad that we had the weekend off so that we could take this wonderful adventure.

Amy + Patrick: Woodrow Hall
Amy and Patrick were not your typical bride and groom.  They didn't really care about all of the details of the day, they just wanted to be married.  They didn't want to be married on a Saturday (which worked out well for us since we didn't have a Saturday free in the month of May!!!).  We did settle for a Monday afternoon wedding at Woodrow Hall.

Woodrow Hall had been the setting for numerous industry functions, but we had not worked a wedding there.  It was fantastic.  Completely transformed from what I had seen before.  Don't get me wrong, it was way cool before, but for the wedding ceremony, it had a softer feel.  And the lighting was great!!!

It was a beautiful ceremony and reception.  We are so happy for this couple!!!
Caitlin + Jeffrey: Shades Mt. Baptist/B & A Warehouse

Caitlin and Jeff were married at Shades Mt. Baptist Church surrounded by all of their family and friends (and a beautiful arbor arrangement by Carol with Lillie's Flowers).  For their reception, Feel the Beat entertained the guests at B & A Warehouse.

We got some amazing footage of a great wedding.  Everyone was having so much fun! It was also great working with fabulous photographers, Brandon and Stacey Gresham.  And we even saw a former bride and groom (Jennifer and Jordan Wilkes) at the wedding!  Fun times!!

Erica + Ryan: Rosewood
Even with the constant threat of rain, Erica and Ryan's wedding day turned out fabulous!  (And without a drop of rain too!!) Going into the day, I knew it would be a lot of fun - 1) it was held at Rosewood and Renee and her staff are always so wonderful and 2) Amber and Charles Ford were going to be the photographers for the day!

It was a packed house for the sweet ceremony and the reception was lots of fun!  Some of the moves on the dance floor... there are no words to describe!!!!  Thanks goodness for video!  After a showering of sparklers, the happy couple was off for Jamaica!

Click here if you are not sure you need a videographer!!
We just received this email from a recent bride.

"...  I was really opposed to having a videographer at the wedding.  I guess I just pictured cheesy 80’s type stuff... My mom talked me into it and I finally agreed to have a videographer, but I didn’t really have high expectations for the outcome.  However, my video is now my most cherished posession from the wedding!  I love being able to go back and see the look in Johnny’s eyes when he first saw me.  I can read his lips and see over and over when he tells me I look perfect.  Those are things still pictures just can’t give you.  Thank you for giving us such special memories!  I rarely cry, but I have cried every time I watch our video (I think I’m up to 2,000 times in the past 6 months… hehe)  You are so talented and I feel so blessed that you were a part of our big day.  Thank you for making it so special and for giving us memories we will be able to relive forever!"

Imagine being able to hear your groom get choked up while saying his wedding vows to you, or your dad tearing up a little during your daddy/daughter dance, or the way your mom was looking at you standing next to your husband at the reception.  A professional wedding video can really help you remember the emotion of the day.

Ashley + Thomas: Canterbury UMC
One of my favorite couples - both so sweet and kind, beautiful too!  After a romantic ceremony at Canterbury UMC, the couple hosted a short reception at the church.  There, many friends, family and church family gathered to give their well wishes to the couple.  A much smaller and intimate gathering occured at the bride's sister's house directly after the church reception.

After an amazing dinner, complete with a fantastic desert, everyone pilled under the outside tent to listen and dance to the band.  I loved all of the little details that we present throughout the day.  My favorite:  Old fashion soda bottles served in large metal tubs.

It was a perfect evening!  I was surprised to find out that Erin Nolen (photographer) was 6 months pregnant!  Congrats to she and Corey!

Chelsea + Shane: The Tutwiler
Chelsea and Shane were married on the lawn of the beautiful Tutwiler hotel, right next to the street.  Way cool!  It made for a fabulous setting for their ceremony.  And guests were invited into the hotel for the reception - so the couple got the best of both worlds!

And speaking of the best, David Shirk with Unplugged Photography was there to capture all of the special moments.  I have seen the pictures and they look great!  I can't wait to show Chelsea and Shane the great footage that we captured too! Watch the groom's expression in this clip!

Dusty + Brian: Rosewood
Dusty and Brian were married at the always beautiful Rosewood in Pinson.  I really do feel like family - I don't know if it is because the owners are so great and welcoming or if it is because we are always working there!  The staff does such a great job with each and every wedding!

Dusty was a beautiful bride and Brian looked pretty sharp too!  They had a great turnout for both the ceremony and the reception!  Dusty's smile made everyone's day!

Photographer for the evening was the amazing Jessica Wright - whom I am POSITIVE that years ago we worked with, but still can't remember which wedding.  Regardless, it is not near enough.  She is so delightful and talented - what a great combination.

Jessica + Barry: Cross Bridge Church of Christ/Sonnet House
Where do I begin with this journey?  Thanks to an amazing wedding planner, Beverly Andrews (Engaging Celebrations) we were brought in for this special wedding for two special "kids."  But there is so much to their story - I am so glad that we were there to capture everything forever.

Jessica's parents opened their hearts to us and allowed us to produce a wonderful Love Story to be shown at the rehearsal dinner.  And even though it was a late evening for them, Barry's parents allowed us to interview them, after they had been traveling all day.  They were all such great sports!

So many wonderful details from the ceremony, even a call from the groom's brother in Iraq!  The evening continued at the Sonnet House, where I have to say, Barry surprised me a little bit with his moves.  Wow!  That guy can dance!  Minutes later, I see his dad "cutting a rug" and I knew where his talent came from.  As the bride told her parents before she left, it was a "fairy tale" day.

BTW, I am not sure that the title "Wedding Planner" really describes everything Beverly and her staff does for their brides.  When you bring Beverly into your wedding, she becomes part of your life (before the wedding and even after), she handles everything, so maybe I will try to come up with a new title for Beverly that will represent how amazing she really is!
