Molly + Rich: SFX and Harbert Center
"She was surrounded by angels."  This is a direct quote from Rich talking about the first time he saw Molly from across the street.  These two have an amazing love story.  We were so fortunate to be able to tell their story to their family and friends at the rehearsal dinner Friday night.  Held at Rosewood Hall in SoHo, many friends and family gathered in love and support of the couple.  Below is the clip of the interview shown that night.  It is so much more than an interview though, it is the story of true love.

On Saturday, Rich and Molly exchanged vows at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in a traditional mass.  Afterwards, the Harbert Center hosted their lively reception.  Molly looked beautiful in her White Room gown.  We love Molly and Rich and we love their family!  (Molly is the sister of Adrienne and Luke Remmert, of Bridesmaid Jill fame.)

Collins + Brad: A Day to Remember!

After a much needed break from weddings, we were fortunate to be a part of the beginning of two new lives.  Collins and Brad were so much fun; so relaxed!  I really think that they had a great time on their wedding day!

The carefully orchestrated day (by Swanky Socials' Molly Shook) started at First Christian Church with getting ready coverage.  After the beautiful ceremony, everyone gathered at Pine Tree Country Club for lots of fun dancing!  When you work together as a team with the photographer, everyone wins.  Working with David and Ari Shirk (Unplugged Photography), we captured some AMAZING footage!!!!

2010 SoHo Bridal Show
Wow!  What an absolutely FABULOUS, FLIRTY, FRESH, FUNKY, and FANTASY-filled show!  Over 250 brides filled Rosewood Hall in Homewood along with tons of amazing local wedding vendors, each on site to help these brides' dreams come true.  We had a great turnout in our booth, even seeing some of our current brides and grooms!

Here is the promotional piece that we filmed and edited for the Perfect Wedding Guide.  Please watch and share with your friends, because you might see yourself in it!!! (Depending on your download speed, you might want to let the video load for a second and then watch it uninterrupted.)

The Launch of the Insider...
For a while now, I have been jotting down notes from all of the various weddings that we film.  These notes are really just tips for the bride and groom to use when planning a wedding.  Sometimes the tips come from good things that happen, other times they stem from bad experiences.  But I really hope that brides can use this as a resource when they get engaged.

So let's get a few things straight:

I am NOT a wedding planner, and don't make any claim to be, but I do see a different wedding every single weekend.  You will not find anything about floral trends or colors or anything like that. Some of my tips will be about videography (what I know the most about), some about the planning process, some about picking vendors.  The heartbreaking ones are from brides that wish they would have done things differently in regards to their wedding day.  I will never be mean to anyone or name names (either in a good or bad setting) - this is just a resource that I truly help can help a few people.

I am committing myself to this new blog segment for one entire year, one tip per week.  I realize that this is 52 tips, but I am ambitious!  Although I am thinking of the peak wedding season when I can barely get my clothes washed, and I am getting a little scared!!!  And if you have tips of your own, send them to me!

My hope is that this new segment will give people an insider's view when planning their wedding.  I try to remember when talking with a bride that (normally) this is her first time to plan such an event and if I have a few tips that can help her in that process, then I will gladly give them to her.  After all, you can't go back and redo the day.
Yolanda + Marlon: Sheraton
After a beautiful wedding ceremony at Eastern Star Baptist Church, Yolanda and Marlon celebrated their reception at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Birmingham.  This weekend we worked for the 1st time with Imaginations Photography.

It was a fun evening!

Jessica + Brandon: Tuscaloosa
Surrounded by their family and friends, Jessica and Brandon were married at Calvary Baptist Church with the wedding reception held at Indian Hills Country Club.

The most usual thing that I saw at the reception was a 3 foot high Auburn tiger cake.  I was told by the groom's family that it was difficult to find someone willing to make and bring a tiger cake to Tuscaloosa!!  (I need to post a picture of this thing - wow!!!)  If you know John and I, you know that we are not football fans.  We do understand the rivarly between these two teams.  I am glad that they found someone willing to make their groom's cake!!!

The couple left their reception in style in a vintage car from Coats Classic Cars.
