Southern groom's cakes

We are Southerners.  People love their sweet tea and football.  So naturally would would see these influences on a wedding day, especially when couples really love to personalize their wedding.  Here in the South it is common to have a groom's cake. Although the tradition started in England, it was even featured in Steel Magnolias, where the red velvet groom's cake was shaped like a armadillo!

We see a lot of hobbies featured on groom's cakes but more than anything, we see allegiances to football teams.  This is not even a trend just during football season - it's all year.  Whether you are a Roll Tide or War Eagle fan, you are sure to love these examples!
