Blog Index

We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week.  It is also a good way to get to know us.  Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed.  We will see...

Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year.  We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside.  Ha!  Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.

Insider's Tips: Tip #40 - Dance Floor

Whether you like it or not, you and your groom are responsible for getting people out on the dance floor.  Well, at least partly.  You can have a great band or DJ, but your guests want to see you out there having fun.

I am not saying that you have to physically drag everyone and force them to dance.  We have seen when planners guide their couple to the dance floor, the guests start to dance.  When they see you having a great time and dancing, they want to come out on the dance floor too.

One more bonus:  Your photographer and videographer can capture some great memories because everyone is out there dancing and having a great time!  A special thanks to Gresham Photography for this wonderful pic.

Claire + Josh: Canterbury & Old Overton CC

The most organized bride to date.  I even had my timeline two weeks before the wedding!  I couldn't believe it!  Claire had planned every last detail of her wedding day and kept everyone on top of things throughout the day.  From the bridal party getting ready at Canterbury United Methodist Church to leaving on the favorite mode of transportation for the groom, the day was flawless.  The groomsmen were even dressed and ready ONE HOUR before they really needed to be for photos.  WOW!  Brides, we might can get a copy of the email that Claire sent out to all of the groomsmen because something she said worked because they were not only on time, but also WAY early!

We got an amazing shot of the bride walking down the aisle to her groom during the wedding ceremony.  This task is sometimes hard to do at strict churches, but we got it!!!  Beautiful, heartfelt ceremony.  The reception was quite a party, including a performance of "Proud Mary" from the bride's mom and band!

The perfect day ended with sparklers and the couple riding off in a golf cart (something that we had not seen before) from their wedding reception!

Alice & Kyser: St. Luke's and Mt. Brook CC

Our first wedding of 2010 was quite a party!  The first time I spoke with Alice, I thought that this couple was different from most.  Then I visited their wedding website and my suspensions were confirmed.  They WERE indeed different!  I knew that their wedding would be one to remember - what a night!!!  Yes, it was bitter cold, but that didn't stop everyone (450+) guests from having a great time!

Following a very romantic ceremony at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, all wedding guests moved to the Mountain Brook Country Club.  This is where the party started.  It was also nice to be able to work with a photography team that consists of two of the best people around - Beth and Will with Olivaphoto.com.  I know that they got some amazing photos!

We have so much great footage of everyone dancing and having a wonderful time, we didn't really know where to pull a short piece for the blog.  We wanted to show a clip that was fun, and showed what NUTS the bride and groom were!  We can't wait to start editing!

N & C @ B & A

Clever title, huh??? It's all I've got tonight!
On to the story!
I didn't have the opportunity to get to know Natalie and Chris before the wedding like I normally like to do, but I can tell you that Natalie's mom is the best! She was so sweet she even called to thank us a couple of days after the wedding. I am surprised that she wasn't still recuperating!
The bride and groom were married at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mt. Brook. After a very beautiful ceremony, the guests all headed to the B & A Warehouse. And that is where the party began. Fabulous flowers, great venue, amazing food and cakes! The band kept everyone dancing all night. It was a perfect evening. We were so busy getting wonderful footage, I am not even sure that I got to tell Natalie how beautiful she was!

Enjoy the fun dancing!

Goldstein-Schell Throw Down

The term "throw down" is not a term that I use lightly.  But this wedding reception was just that!  Wow!  I have never seen a grandmother dance like Stephanie's grandmother!  Talk about shaking your tail feathers!!!!

Earlier in the evening, Stephanie and Teddy got married upstairs in Our Lady of Sorrows.  But their reception was unlike any reception held in the church that we have filmed!  There was a great DJ, a well-stocked bar, and plenty of food for the guests.  We have hours of great dance footage that we can't wait to share with the bride and groom.  Here is just a tiny bit of dancing just so that you can see how much fun everyone had!
