Blog Index

We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week.  It is also a good way to get to know us.  Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed.  We will see...

Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year.  We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside.  Ha!  Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.

Meredith + Dale: The Sonnet House

You might recall last July for our anniversary trip, John hired the most amazing and beautiful makeup artist, Meredith Brown.  Well, Meredith is not only our friend now, but she first was our bride.

We were excited about the wedding day for many reasons, but mainly because we were able to be a little out of the box.  We shot the entire day with our 1970s Super 8mm camera.  I can't wait to see how the footage turned out.  The film must be sent off to a lab for processing.  Now don't worry, we shot the ceremony with "real" video cameras too, just in case the 30 year old film missed a beat.

She and Dale had a beautiful wedding at The Sonnet House.  The food was great, flowers were beautiful, it was just a perfect day!

Planner: Molly Shook.  Photographer:  David Shirk with Unplugged Photography. Flowers: Carol Riley with Lillie's.  Catering: Kathy G. Cake: Dreamcakes.  Hair and Makeup: Jessica Lazarus and Kerri Bunn. Ceremony Music: Cahaba River Strings.

Great times!

Here is a snippet of her vintage wedding film!

Collins + Brad: A Day to Remember!

After a much needed break from weddings, we were fortunate to be a part of the beginning of two new lives.  Collins and Brad were so much fun; so relaxed!  I really think that they had a great time on their wedding day!

The carefully orchestrated day (by Swanky Socials' Molly Shook) started at First Christian Church with getting ready coverage.  After the beautiful ceremony, everyone gathered at Pine Tree Country Club for lots of fun dancing!  When you work together as a team with the photographer, everyone wins.  Working with David and Ari Shirk (Unplugged Photography), we captured some AMAZING footage!!!!

Sarah + Jimmy: RUMC & Riverchase CC

We started out the wedding weekend with Sarah and Jimmy and all of their family and friends at a beautiful rehearsal dinner at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  I always say that when filming rehearsal dinners, the most interesting part is always the toasts.  Especially if everyone went to school together and are willing to share great stories! It makes for great footage!

For the wedding day, we had the opportunity to work with wedding planner, Molly Shook of Swanky Socials.  The wedding ceremony took place at Riverchase United Methodist Church with beautiful flowers by Kathy Miller.  Sarah was absolutely stunning in her White Room gown.  Beautiful girl!  From there, we followed the photographer (Artography) to the beautifully decorated Riverchase Country Club.

Everyone had a great time dancing with the band!  It was a long day, but worth it! We got some amazing footage!
