Blog Index

We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week.  It is also a good way to get to know us.  Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed.  We will see...

Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year.  We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside.  Ha!  Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.

Jenna + Mark: St. Mark | The Club

WOW. Wow. and wow.  This wedding was definitely something to write home about.  The ceremony was beautiful with a full mass and a beautiful sounding choir that filled the church with melody.  The Club (although very beautiful) had never looked better all thanks to Jill Sampson, with Weddings by Jill and lighting by AG Designs.

The entire event was under the careful instruction of Alene Gamel with I Do, I Do Weddings.  Alene is a perfectionist and perfection is what Jenna and Mark were given.

There are so many details that I could talk about.  Pink draping everywhere!  The 7 tiered (or more!)cake by Jan O'Donnell, delicious!  The many food stations.  The fireworks display that was out of this world!  And then an extra treat!  The guests came back in from outside and saw the newly formed cheesecake station!  Perfection, I am telling you.

And then you have the little details that most people might not see, but mean so much.  My favorite was the vintage broach on Jenna's bouquet.  It was her grandmother's.  What a special way to honor a loved one.

The band!  Hands down, the BEST!  The Atlanta Show Stoppers.  They were show stoppers!  I love the snapshot photo below of our couple dancing and singing on stage with the band.   Wonder what they are singing?  Never fear, we have the video that goes along with this picture.  They will be able to relive the day over and over!

I know that Greg Hawkins with Studio G captured some beautiful and fun photos!  His assistant for the day was Marsha Perry!  What a great team!

As I look back on my original notes from my meeting with Jenna.  Her vision was to have an inside garden with pinks and greens.  Well, this garden was fit for a queen!

Leann + Alex: St. Marks/The Sonnet House

What a picture perfect day - well, kind of!  It definitely kept us on our toes!! From lighting strikes to heat strokes, you really never knew what was going to happen from one moment to the next.  But thankfully the day was under the direction of planner extraordinaire, Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations so I wasn't worried!  And neither was Leann, who was as calm as she could be.  I really think she was having a great time as she should have been.

My favorite memory of the day was right after the bride and groom saw each other for the first time on the side lawn of The Sonnet House.  Together with Jerrod Brown (Photographer), we were capturing this romantic, perfect time.  The groom was about to tell the bride how gorgeous she looked on the grounds of the Sonnet House when Beverly and her wonderful assistant, Catherine, both shout RRRRRUUUUUNNNNNNNNN!!!!  I look over my shoulder and see this huge rain cloud coming right toward us - you could actually see it come across the lawn in a line.  Crazy!  Beverly picks up Leann's silk dress and basically shoves her inside to safety and we all follow!  Nuts! I have a feeling that is one first look that no one will forget!

Other Wedding Professionals:  J Ross with Norton's Flowers, The A-Town A-List (Band), B & A Catering, Dreamcakes, Katie Moon (makeup).  Great wedding!

Enders-Lauderdale

Congrats go out to the new Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lauderdale!  After a perfect ceremony at St. Mark the Evangelist off of Hwy 280, we were on to the Marriott Grandview for the reception.  Beautiful church - we had actually never filmed a ceremony there so it was great to meet the wonderful people at that church.  They were so helpful!

John and I spent our honeymoon night at the Marriott 8 1/2 loooonnngg (just kidding) years ago, so we are partial to the hotel.  And just like they were many years ago, the staff at the Marriott was absolutely wonderful!  They even raised the lighting a little for us, the light-greedy videographers, when it came time to cut the cake!

It was a great way to end our March Madness!  It really did come in like a lion and out like a lamb!  But wait, April is just as busy - what is the saying for it?
