We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week. It is also a good way to get to know us. Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed. We will see...
Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year. We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside. Ha! Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.
Where do I begin with this journey? Thanks to an amazing wedding planner, Beverly Andrews (Engaging Celebrations) we were brought in for this special wedding for two special "kids." But there is so much to their story - I am so glad that we were there to capture everything forever.
Jessica's parents opened their hearts to us and allowed us to produce a wonderful Love Story to be shown at the rehearsal dinner. And even though it was a late evening for them, Barry's parents allowed us to interview them, after they had been traveling all day. They were all such great sports!
So many wonderful details from the ceremony, even a call from the groom's brother in Iraq! The evening continued at the Sonnet House, where I have to say, Barry surprised me a little bit with his moves. Wow! That guy can dance! Minutes later, I see his dad "cutting a rug" and I knew where his talent came from. As the bride told her parents before she left, it was a "fairy tale" day.
BTW, I am not sure that the title "Wedding Planner" really describes everything Beverly and her staff does for their brides. When you bring Beverly into your wedding, she becomes part of your life (before the wedding and even after), she handles everything, so maybe I will try to come up with a new title for Beverly that will represent how amazing she really is!
Once again, we find ourselves at the beautiful Sonnet House. This time is it early Sunday morning. John and I were married 10 years ago in the morning and I still LOVE the idea. It was a little chilly to start, but the day was grand!
Hands down, BEST.DRESS.EVER! Sorry to my other brides, but I really loved Melissa's short wedding dress! It was perfect for her. She even had pockets to keep her lipstick! Kudos to the White Room, they hit it out of the park on this one. She looked gorgeous and a little sassy!
After the ceremony, Melissa and TJ shared mimosas with their guests, while Iz Catering served brunch! Naturally they would cater the wedding as they are family and Melissa's workplace! You can't go wrong with Iz (anything and everything)! They also have a great venue that is perfect for rehearsal dinners and receptions.
Mark Parker was the photographer that morning. Our paths had crossed several times before, but we never had the opportunity to work a wedding together. He was gracious to let us shadow him during the pre-wedding pictures.
It's that time of year again - beautiful Spring weddings! We are so fortunate that we get to do what we really love to do. A wedding day is such a special time! We love when we are contracted to film for the entire day. That allows us to be able to capture when the bride and groom seeing each other and the photo session that comes directly after (and if you know anything about me, you know that this is my absolute FAVORITE time). I believe the new, hip term is a Bridal Elegance video.
With all of that said, here is our latest sneak peak taken directly from that moment. We shadowed David Shirk with Unplugged Photography for the day - both of us were extremely happy with what we captured. David is so fun to work with, so animated, he really puts the couple at ease while in front of the camera. And his pictures are "wicked awesome", a term he would use!!!
It really turned out to be a beautiful day, a little windy, but beautiful! We worked with M. Elizabeth again as the wedding planner and Carlos with Total Entertainment kept everyone on the dance floor!
So I was told that in Beverly Andrews' (Engaging Celebrations) 15 year history of planning weddings, that she never had had a wedding rained out. But it really did look like rain for Saturday, so a tent was ordered, set up and decorated. When we arrived at the Sonnet House to start getting ready coverage for the beautiful Taylor, the weather was perfect! And it stayed that way until they were leaving when a little mist started. You couldn't have asked for better weather or for a more beautiful wedding! Every detail was handled perfectly by Beverly and her staff. I always say this, but when you have a professional wedding planner caring for your wedding, it runs so much smoother. HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WEDDING PLANNER!
A few years ago, we worked with Angela Karen Photography for the 1st time. We were so happy to be able to do so again this weekend! And it was so much fun! I know that we were able to get some amazing footage so I know they did too!
Olexa's crafted the most beautiful wedding cake, and of course, it was delicious! For guest favors, Pastry Arts put 2 baby bites into a take home box! Soooo cute! Vince with FlowerStems arranged amazing flowers, with beautiful Fall colors. And finally, all of the guests had a wonderful time dancing to Nationwide Coverage!
Shelley and Jim were married on the beautiful grounds at the Sonnet House. On this particular Saturday, it was touch and go with rain, so we didn't know if the Plan B was going to be put in action. Fortunately they were able to be married outside, like they wanted.
Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations was brought it for her expertise on directing a wedding. I know Shelley was probably so relieved to have someone like Beverly to trust to make your dreams a reality.
This sneak peak clip was taken from some of the wedding reception dance footage that we shot. Just a quick clip to show how much fun everyone was having!
