We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week. It is also a good way to get to know us. Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed. We will see...
Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year. We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside. Ha! Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.
There was just something about Laura and Adam during our 1st meeting. I loved their love. They weren't planning this "let's party way into the evening wedding with lots of drinking and dancing." We are very familiar with this type of wedding and they are great for lots of couples. But not this one. I have to tell you, their wedding was a refreshing change of pace. I would love to see the return of the 2:00 wedding. As you will see in one of the pictures below - just look at the way Adam looks at Laura. You can read the love on his face.
This couple was focused on their love that they share. That's why I loved them so much. Ok, it probably didn't hurt that they loved photography and videography so much that we could do as many photo shoots as we wanted... Three was the total!!! These clips below were taken from the video. THE Jerrod Brown had some amazing shots that I can't wait to see! And it was fun that his Gretchen Birdwell (Gretchen B Photography) was assisting him that day. We all had a blast!
I loved the biscuit bar, all of the hand painted signs - great details throughout. The flowers were gorgeous and were actually from one of our former brides Amy Hurst Dyle (Ann's Balloons and Flowers). It was a perfect October day!
This past weekend we were honored to be a part of the marriage of true love, originally set up by a Greek Matchmaker. Alene Gamel with I Do, I Do Wedding Planning recommended us to this couple and we are so glad that she did. We had so much fun all day!
These images were taken when Jerrod Brown, John and I kidnapped the couple for an excursion, much to the dismay of both the church director and Alene!!! (The church was undergoing construction and we had to find a place to play!) JB found the perfect place!!! Imagine the emotion that we have in the video - can't wait!
Sure this was my most memorable part of the day, but there were so many facets to the wedding. Beautiful ceremony, fun dancing at the reception. Beautiful flowers by J Ross with Norton's. Delicious food by Kathy G. Yummy cake by Olexa's! Az-Izz rockin' Ted's Garage. James Meredith from Coats Classic Cars picking the couple up.
And the best thing, is that everything ran smoothly and to a self-proclaimed control freak bride, that made the day! Go Alene!
Several times a year wedding vendors work together to provide inspiration to all brides through photo shoots for Alabama Weddings Magazine. It usually consists of a pretty long day, but the results are worth it! Our contribution was to film the setup of the different "scenes" plus a little bit of clowning around of the vendors. The location was a bit unusual, but Ted's Garage Cafe turned out to be perfect for the day. It was really fun!
Although the edit of the video is not completed just yet, I wanted to say thanks to all of the contributing vendors!
Awesome (and amazing!) photography by Jerrod Brown.
Floral and design by J Ross with Norton's.
Lighting design by Andy Tolar with Design Productions.
What a picture perfect day - well, kind of! It definitely kept us on our toes!! From lighting strikes to heat strokes, you really never knew what was going to happen from one moment to the next. But thankfully the day was under the direction of planner extraordinaire, Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations so I wasn't worried! And neither was Leann, who was as calm as she could be. I really think she was having a great time as she should have been.
My favorite memory of the day was right after the bride and groom saw each other for the first time on the side lawn of The Sonnet House. Together with Jerrod Brown (Photographer), we were capturing this romantic, perfect time. The groom was about to tell the bride how gorgeous she looked on the grounds of the Sonnet House when Beverly and her wonderful assistant, Catherine, both shout RRRRRUUUUUNNNNNNNNN!!!! I look over my shoulder and see this huge rain cloud coming right toward us - you could actually see it come across the lawn in a line. Crazy! Beverly picks up Leann's silk dress and basically shoves her inside to safety and we all follow! Nuts! I have a feeling that is one first look that no one will forget!
