Blog Index

We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week.  It is also a good way to get to know us.  Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed.  We will see...

Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year.  We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside.  Ha!  Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.

Katie + Cali: Trash the Dress

You either love them or hate them.  I am not taking about Katie & Cali, you can't help but love those two!  I am talking about the new, hip trend called "Trash the Dress."  I personally am a big fan of what I have seen so far.  Not that I would ever do it - but that is just because I wouldn't be able to fit into my dress anymore!!!

On a beautiful Spring afternoon, we met Cali and Katie at Oak Mountain State Park.  We did a short interview with them for their Love Story.  And what a story that they have!  After we were finished with the interview, we met up with Butch and Joy with Blue Moon Photography to begin the hike down to Peavine Falls.  Notice I didn't say short hike or anything like that - it was maybe a mile.  I have no idea how far it was, but even "packing light" for a videographer is still 40 lbs each of equipment.  AND I don't hike, EVER.

John's handmade underwater container for our "cheap" camera only had a small leak in it so the $10 that he spent on it was pretty much worth it.  Don't think that we were going to put thousands of dollars worth of equipment in the water.

So the terrain was a little different, smaller areas to shoot in, but we came out with some amazing footage. But most importantly we were able to capture the absolute true love that they share.  And yes the water was very cold!

Cali will be leaving on Saturday for 6 months. We wanted them to have something that they could both watch on those lonely nights that are sure to occur.  Both Katie and Cali are great people and they are so lucky to have each other.

Please note that NO equipment was damaged in the making of this segment.  Wait, I forgot, Butch got his phone wet.  I think he actually had insurance on it.

Adams-Murphy: North Shelby Baptist/The Club

We had the wonderful pleasure of being the videographers for Brittany and John's wedding.  What an amazing couple!  Truly!  We first got to know the couple while doing their "Love Story."  Theirs was not a traditional love story, but a fun-filled day at Oak Mountain.  Brittany and John decided to bring their mountain bikes and canoe to the Park so that we could add that footage into the piece for the rehearsal dinner.  That evolved into a spoof of American Gladiators!  They were such good sports with everything.  It was so much fun to film.  Here is the video from that day, which then was shown at the rehearsal dinner and reception both!

Now onto the wedding day!  After Brittany and John saw each other for the 1st time, we were able to go outside (thankfully the rain stopped) to capture some really great moments with both of them.  John's dad is the pastor at North Shelby Baptist - it really is a beautiful church.  And what a gem...the courtyard!  Special thanks to Blue Moon Photography for putting up with us all day!  Take a look at this sneak peak of the courtyard footage!

After a standing-room only ceremony, the couple drove off in a 2010 Camero to The Club, where all 400 (+) guests were there to welcome the bride and groom.  Now this was a traditional Baptist reception with no alcohol.  That statement is important because I (after 100s of weddings) have never seen a crowd have THAT much fun dancing without having something to drink.  Kudos to Carlos with Total Entertainment for getting people out on the dance floor.  We got great footage!
