Blog Index

We have tried to design our blog for our fans, friends, and family to keep up with what we are doing each week.  It is also a good way to get to know us.  Or maybe just a way that I (Angela) can talk up a storm without John getting annoyed.  We will see...

Also included are the Insider's Tips, which started out as a challenge to post one tip per week for an entire year.  We hope that you will find that they are not just the normal information you find out there in wedding world, but more unusual tips that can only be found when you live on the inside.  Ha!  Really, we just attend a lot of weddings.

John & Angela | Our Love Story

She said.....

Yep, this is us.  After years of John harassing me to do this, I finally gave in.  The final product is exactly what we wanted, and more than we were expecting.  Our goal is to help clients - past, current, and future - get to know what we are about.  We work so closely with our couples that we get to know their love story and how they work.  Not we are letting you get to know us on a more personal level.

You will not find any fancy camera work here.  This is just about the love that two people share and what they have created from that love.

He Said....

1) It's not hyperboly when she says it took me years to get her to do this.

2) This was a lot of fun to edit, and it was one of the most difficult edits I've done in years as the uncut interview is well over an hour long.  There was a lot of content that was funny and special to us that didn't make the cut. Mostly because you had to be there or because it was a little too incriminating.

3) I was talking to a great wedding industry friend yesterday about this piece of video and explaining that this was the beginning to a new direction and focus for myself and the company.  Don't get me wrong we love love, we love creating beautiful imagery and fancy camera work.  And we can do, and will continue to do exacly that. But, it cannot be the focus of our work.  People and their stories must be the focus of the work.  As stated elsewhere on our website...

"It’s a beginning and an ending, it’s glorious and sad, and it’s intimate and public. In your lifetime there will be few milestones that will change the course of your future more than your wedding day. Main Street Productions understands and believes in the emotions of life. We bring these emotions to our art and look forward to presenting you a glimpse into your own past...."

Special thanks to our "camera crew", Kerri Burson and Anita Kanellis. Makeup artist, Laura Eason. Paparazzi, Daniel Taylor Photography. And to the great folks at Woodrow Hall for letting us use their space.

Whitney + Billy: Reid Chapel & VHCC

This past Saturday we worked some of our favorite vendors to create a beautiful day for Whitney and Billy.  Anita Kanellis with AK Brides planned Whitney's wedding of her dreams.  Lighting was provided by Andy Tolar with Design Productions, making Vestavia Hills Country Club a beautiful shade of pink!  A couple of weeks ago, we did a photo shoot with Southern Bride Magazine where Rob Ingram was the photographer.  It was nice seeing him again at the wedding.  Another friend, Laura Eason had the very large task of doing makeup Whitney, her mom, and all of the bridemaids! Everyone looked beautiful!  Amazing band, Az-Izz, had everyone dancing so much that no one wanted to leave!  The day couldn't have been more perfect!

Evie & Lee: Covenant Presbyterian & Vestavia Hills CC

It is always so refreshing to see a young couple so in love.  We hope that Evie & Lee had a terrific honeymoon!  We are excited to share some of the great footage that we were able to capture of their wedding!  We actually had a 5 camera setup at the church, but went down to 3 for the reception (didn't want to go overboard!) ha!

Not only did we enjoy working with this couple and their families, but we were able to also work with some of our favorite vendors in town.  Carol, with Lillie's, achieved romance and elegance, without being over the top.  From the cross at the church to the greenery at the reception, everything she created was a work of art.  It is hard to pick a favorite of the evening, all of the flowers were stunning!

Danny brought his Cool Shots Photo Lounge for the entertainment for the evening (wait, in addition to the band).  People were lining up to get their photo taken!  All of the details of the day were so carefully orchestrated.  From the furs shaws given to the bridesmaids to flip flops for all the women, there were so many wonderful little details that made up the day.   Anita, with Anita Kanellis Wedding Planning had her work cut out for her, with the almost 600 guests.  She handled everything beautifully! I will say it again, HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER, it just makes the day so much easier for everyone involved.

Here is the sneak peak of their AMAZING wedding!  For those fellow geeks, we have mixed in some footage that we shot with our new DSLR - different look with that camera, almost a vintage feel.
